A set of eight similar Gustavian chairs each with arched back carved with leaves, openwork spalt, square drop-in seat, round fluted legs, joined by H-shaped stretcher. Sweden, late 18th century. (8)
The model which these chairs are related to was made for the Swedish castle Gunnebo by architect Carl Wilhelm Carlberg (1746–1814), the original drawings at the Röhsska Museum, Gothenburg.
