Camilla Skov Sørensen (b. 1993)

“Emerging wander”, 2024. Signed Camilla Skov. Polychrome glazed earthenware. 32×52×7 cm.

The Danish artist Camilla Skov (b. 1993), lives and works in Copenhagen, Denmark. In her practice she investigates how the human is in constant need of categorisations and how objects can create different associations regarding gender, culture, and social class. A comprehensive investigation of existential questions. Her ceramic sculptures consist of bold colors, raw elements, and suggestive motifs, which challenge our perception and reception - both on an aesthetic and social level. The relationship between work and viewer becomes essential in her practice. The viewer is invited into a challenging and explorative space. A space where symbols are twisted and send the individual into a delirium of interpretation.
