Purchased by “De Danske Kongers Kronologiske Samling” in November 2019.
A pair of Russian Royal 14k gold shirt buttons, of circular form, decorated with dark yellow translucent enamel on guilloched ground, encircled by several rose-cut diamonds, with portal shaped hangers. Apparently, no maker's mark, 56 standard, scratched inventory no. 58889. Attributed to Carl Fabergé. C. 1900. Weight c. 4.9 g. Diam. 1 cm. (2).
Provenance: Formerly in the collection of Prince Harald of Denmark (1876–1949). He was a nephew of the Danish-born Tsaritsa Maria Feodorovna of Russia, who presumably gave him the pair of shirt buttons as a present.
