A rare Parang Latok from Kalimantan (Borneo) in a wooden scabbard with a fine pommel in bone carved with florals and a silver mounted grip. The heavy single edged c 53 cm long blade is typical with its lower unsharpened part and the hilt abruptly bent upward and decorated with filed decorations. The scabbard in wood is plain.
Brought to Denmark by Niels Stoltz who managed a rubber plantation by Kuta Bharu in Kelantan on Borneo 1903–1924. He served in the ”Kelantan Volunteer Rifles” and participated in several punic expeditions both on the east coast of Malaya and in Sarawak as he spoke fluent Malay and knew both the whole of the east coast and parts of Sarawak.
The blade spotted. The scabbard held by a single rattan band - the rest is missing.
For the purchased lot we require an import permit from your home country authority.
