Peter Ilsted (b. Sakskøbing 1861, d. Copenhagen 1933)
Fredensborg Palace Gardens with the statues by Johannes Wiedewelt. Signed with monogram and dated 95. Oil on canvas. 57×44 cm.
From 1760 and for c. eight years Wiedewelt (1731–1802) executed, together with many assistants, the decoration of Fredensborg Palace Garden with groups, statues etc. These are still in the gardens today.
Minimal crackles. In need of a light surface cleaning. The canvas is relined.
