Vilhelm Lauritzen, attributed (b. Slagelse 1894, d. Gentofte 1984)
A unique wall mounted “floating” Cuban mahogany console. Front with two fold-down doors with original cream-coloured paint. Brass fittings. Made 1942 by Fritz Hansen. H. 19 cm. L. 90.5 cm. D. 36 cm.
Provenance: Jens Udsen, hence by descent in the family.
The “floating” effect is achieved by the console being mounted on a white painted pine wood frame with smaller dimensions than the backside of the console creating the illusion of a small void behind it. Read the full story here
