Bavaria, early 17th century, large bronze plaque of Noah's Ark, workshop of Hans Jakob Bayr (1574–1628), I. Weber 782, 198 mm, 822 g - a truly impressive example of one of Bayr's masterpieces showing Noah, Naamah and their sons and daughters in law in front of numerous animals and birds flocking to the ark.

Hans Jakob Bayer was born in Augsburg and was recorded as master and member of the guild in 1616. He is known to have produced a silver monstrance for Eichstatt cathedral and was considered to be one of the finest silversmiths in the region.
