Prototype of drawer made for the SAS Royal Hotel. Drawer of maple, sides and top of greenish blue formica. Made 1958 by Asmussen & Weber. H. 14.5 cm. W. 50 cm. D. 50.5 cm.
Provenance: MAA architect Carl Johan Larsen and architect Bente Westy Larsen's private collection. From 1958, Carl Johan Larsen was employed at Arne Jacobsen's design studio, where he participated in designing the interior of the SAS Royal Hotel. A test room with various prototypes of the final furniture was arranged. This drawer made of maple is the prototype for the final drawer, with a front of Wengé and a body of light blue formica. These are still to be found in room 606 to this day.
Original patinated condition with scratches and marks. Bottom mounted with wood blocks.
