A unique coffee table with frame and shelf of Cuban mahogany. Rectangular top of clear raw glass. Designed and made approx. 1933–1940 by cabinetmaker Gustav Bertelsen. H. 52 cm. L. 100 cm. W. 40 cm.
Designed and made specifically for Tove & Edvard Kindt-Larsen's summer house “Kufferthuset” (The Suitcase House) in Hornbæk, which was built 1933.
Provenance: Tove & Edvard Kindt-Larsen, hence descended to present owner in 1982. “Kufferthuset” has ever only had these two owners.
