Admiral Andreas du Plessis de Richelieu's magnificent golden bowl. The bowl was given to the Admiral by King Rama V of Siam – also known as King Chulalongkorn - on the occasion of de Richelieu being awarded the highest Siamese noble title of “Phya Pan Tong”. Upper part embossed with ornamentation in the shape of Garuda, flames and design, interior attached to a middle piece with four rosettes (originally five), middle piece mounted on base embossed with flames, middle piece and base are of a different shade of colour than the top. Siam, c. 1893. Filled base. Therefore, no weight is provided here. H. 20 cm. Diameter. 24 cm.
XRF test shows a fineness of approx. 17k gold. Provenance: Admiral Andreas du Plessis de Richelieu. Hence heirs.
