An American fraternal sword by J. R. Pettiss in its scabbard with a helmeted pommel, black wooden grip with a red cross, a c 77 cm. long double edged blade marked J. R. PETISS & CO TROY N.Y. on the ricasso and decorated with masonic symbols, crosses and flags and COMMETT? GOWING in a silver? plated metalscabbard.

Provenance: John Alstrup.

Condition

The silver on the scabbard mostly gone and the blade spotted.
