J. F. Clemens worked for three years on the engraving - “Bataillen d. 2. April 1801, paa Kiøbenhavns Reed” (The battle of Copenhagen April 2nd 1801) - after the painting by C. A. Lorentzens from 1801, today in Frederiksborg Castle. The motif is a detailed account of the battle around one o'clock.

Condition

Some scratches and worm holes. Examined in frame.
