Victor Söderberg (b. Sweden 1800, d. 1866)
A Swedish mahogany marine chronometer with three tier case and brass side handles, the signed silvered dial with Roman numerals and subsidiary state of wind and seconds dials. Signed 'Victor Soderberg, Stockholm, No.20'. Mid-19th century. Dial diam. 9 cm. Case H. 16. W. 15,5. D. 15,5.
Victor Söderberg's first chronometer was produced in 1833. Today, his chronographs exist at museums such as Maritime Museum of Stockholm and Gotland Museum.
Wear due to age and use. The movement appears clean and in working order. No guarantee of the function of the clock work. Key is enclosed.
