The contents are generally clean, a few text leaves with browning and foxing. One folded map with minor tear (The South East Prospect of Westminster). Front free endpaper with repair. Bound in cont. full calf with gilt decorations on boards. Spines very nicely repaired. (2)
Important work on London. Originally published in 1739 as ’The history of London, from its foundation by the Romans’. The illlustrations depict famous churches, street plans and birds-eye views of squares, hospitals etc.
