897/427
Harthacnut, 1035–1042, Penny, Arm and Sceptre type, in the name of Cnut, 1040–1042, Leicester, moneyer, Croc, S 1169, North 799, Hild. -, SCBI Cop. - , 1.14 g, spot of verdigris - extremely rare
The moneyer is known from all the three main types from Cnut, and the reverse gives the impression of a regular Leicester stamp. The obverse, however, is somewhat blundered and might suggest a Scandinavian origin
