Very few watchmaking companies with Danish origin are internationally renowned. None are more appreciated than Urban Jürgensen. Although the company has gone through many different phases throughout its existence, it is today mostly recognised by its wristwatches. To collectors of fine watchmaking, the name Derek Pratt brings a smile to the face. Very few watchmakers have made better looking, higher quality dials than Pratt. He managed to combine historical methods of engine-turning and hand-making with modern sizing and aesthetics. And with a CEO like Peter Baumberger, who never let anything leave the atelier unless it was 100% perfect, you can expect incredibly beautiful and well-made watches.

After 251 years of existence, Urban Jürgensen is once again being revived by Finnish/Swiss watchmaking genius Kari Voutilainen. Hence, collectors around the globe are looking for Jürgensen pieces to add to their collections with renewed interest – and there are not that many to choose from, as they were all made in limited quantities.

This particular watch was sold in May 1990, just a few weeks after the launch during BaselWorld. This is confirmed by the extract from the archives, which also tells us that the watch was made in 1989.
