Russian jeweler, c. 1860
A Russian garnet and diamond pendant set with an oval-cut garnet encircled by numerous rose and old-cut diamonds, mounted in gold and silver. 1860s. Apparently no maker's mark. Original case enclosed, lid with the Imperial Warrant in gold. L. 3.5 cm. (2).
Provenance: Acquired by present owner in the 1980s. Then, the pendant was a brooch and he was informed that the brooch was a present from a Russian Tsar to a Norwegian pilot.
