Paul Ipsen (b. Hallig Oland, Schleswig 1746, d. c. 1810)

A collection of eight miniature portraits of a gentleman and seven ladies, among others Kirstine Helene Leth (1767–1828) and Mette Marie Muderspach (1748–1831). Signed Paul Ipsen and dated respectively 1782, 1786, 1787, 1789 (3 pieces), 1791 and 1792. Watercolour, pencil and chalk on paper. Visible size from c. diam. 8.5 cm to c. diam. 11.5 cm. Period frames. (8).

Provenance: The collection of Master Baker Reinh. van Hauen, hence three with collector's mark 1930.

Condition

Some foxing. The paper has turned slightly brown. Examined in frame.
