Here, the present painting is described as a study for the painting “Oktoberaften. Lige før Solens Nedgang. Paa Hjemvejen fra Møllen” (October evening. Right before sunset on the way home from the mill), which was exhibited at Charlottenborg 1884 no. 263, and today part of the Hirschsprung Collection (Inv. No. 3234).
