A early interesting German hunting hanger/sword c 1650 with the grip and quillion covered in antler held by rivets with shells, downturned shell, c 69 cm long single edged blade with a broad fuller on each side running to the point. One side of the blade decorated with a hunting scene and inscription, the other side with a horseman, florals/flowers and inscription. Both side of the ricasso deeply marked with the makers mark M above an angle.

Condition

The quillion is missing 4 shell, the iron on the grip rust marked, the blade spotted, rust marked and nicked.
