Five Japanese Oban woodblock prints, depicting samurais, kabuki actors and geishas, including Utagawa Kunisada I (Toyokuni III): An eastern view of purple-tinted Edomurasaki, part of triptych; Toshusai Sharaku: Actors Ichikawa Komazô III as Kameya Chûbei and Nakayama Tomisaburô I as Umegawa. Edo period. Sheet size app. 35×24.5–40×29 cm. (5)

Condition

One with missing upper corners. One with pinholes. Handling marks. The paper turned slight brown. Several prints with scotch tape at the reverse. Toshusai Sharaku laid on black card.
