A pair of safari chairs with ash frame. Seat, back and loose cushion upholstered with red brown patinated leather. Grain leather armrests and straps. Model 4700. Designed 1933. Made by Rud. Rasmussen cabinetmakers. (2)

In 1933 Professor Kaare Klint designed his variation of the “Safari-chair” with special attention to design a simple and portable easy chair. He was inspired by an English officer's chair which he had seen in a travel book from Africa. Constructing a chair which could easily be disassembled and assembled without using any tools Klint maintained the field equipment purpose of the chair. Source: Rud. Rasmussen Cabinetmakers.
