Mercedes-Benz SLR (Sport Leicht-Rennen/Sport Light-Racing), in this version produced in only nine specimens, is today one of the most expensive cars in the world and during its era it exceeded all other comparable vehicles in regards to yielding capacity and speed. The maximum pace of the SLR is 263 km/h, a fact that made it peerless among “production cars” through the 1950s and 1960s.
This is an original b/w press photograph from 1968, which shows normal signs of handling. Slightly wavy surface.
