James Paterson was apprenticed to James Howden in Edinburgh in 1789. He started his own business in Lawn Market in 1804 (until 1825). This pocket watch may therefore be the first watch (No. 1) in his own name.
The watch does not work at present. We do not guarantee for the functionality. Dial with a few minimal chips along the rim and at centre.
