Michael Bird, London (, Clockmakers company from 1682- 1713)

An English gilt brass mounted ebony striking clock with calendar, square dial with winged cherub spandrels, matted centre with ringed winding holes and calendar disposal, openwork metal hands, the movement with hour striking and Strike-Silent, verge escapement, the repeating function is missing, the backplate engraved with foliate scrolls and signed 'Mich. Bird, London' as on the chapter ring, the case with pierced and repoussé gilt basket top and mounts to the front and back door. C. 1700. H. 36 cm. W. 26.5 cm. D. 18.5 cm.
