Abraham Solomonovich Beilin-Levkov (, St. Petersburg 1898-1903)

A long Russian 14k gold lady's necklace / pocket watch chain, design in the form of spheres in oval joints between minor, double oval joints. Abraham Solomonovich Beilin-Levkov, assayer Jacob Nicolaevich Liapunov 1898–1903, 56 standard. Weight 49 g. L. 166 cm.

The jewellery workshop of Abraham Solomonovich Beilin-Levkov is mentioned 1894. The company Beilin & Son is mentioned in 1901–1916, owned by Abraham Solomonovich Beilin-Levkov and his son, David Abramovich Beilin-Levkov. Beilin & Son made gold chains and diamond jewellery to the Imperial Russian Court with Pavel Bure Business House as intermediary. In 1916, Beilin & Son also made cigarette cases for Carl Fabergé in Moscow.

Provenance: A Danish trade councillor at the Danish Embassy in Moscow, where he and his wife lived in the 1970s. During the posting they bought more Russian jewellery and antiques, among others this present gold chain. Thence by descents with Danish residence until today.
