An interesting and unusual properly fully stocked brass mounted unsigned German Zimmer pistol c 1850 finely carved around the metal parts. The butt reminds one of Kuchenreuter pistols as does the trigger guard ending in a vase. The two stage barrel is c 17 cm long in calibre c 5 mm. Beneath the barrel an iron cleaning rod with a brass final held by two pipes. The pistol uses the percussion cap to fire the muzzle loading bullet and a bolt to put tension on the inner hammer.
This type of pistol is not in Lewis Winants book Early Percussion Firearms and the maker is unknown.
The pistol is in good condition with somewhat spotted iron and some small cracks by the muzzle and on the right side by the chamber.
