In June 1963 President John F. Kennedy spent four days in West Germany, also known as the Federal Republic of Germany, inaugurating a 10-day trip to Europe that also included visits to Ireland, England, and Italy. During the four days in Germany, the President visited several cities and towns, including Bonn, Cologne, Hanau, Frankfurt, and West Berlin - the latter being the scene of his famous 'Ich bin ein Berliner' speech (June 26, 1963), where 450,000 Germans gathered around him.
This is an original b/w silver gelatin press photograph from 1963, which shows two creased corners, pressure marks and some discolouration due to humidity/liquid (?).
