Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin became the first humans to walk on the Moon. The third member of the crew, astronaut Michael Collins, remained in the command module where he awaited the return of his comrades.
This is an original NASA colour photograph from the late summer of 1969, which shows normal signs of handling.
