Axel Salto (b. Copenhagen 1889, d. Frederiksberg 1961)
A blue chamotte stoneware bowl, the outside with incised relief decor. The inside and part of the outside decorated with matte, bluish green glaze. Signed Salto, 9115. Made by Royal Copenhagen. H. 8.4 cm. Diam. 11.5–11.7 cm.
Provenance: The bowl was part of the private collection of museum curator and art historian Sigurd Schultz (b. 1894, d. 1980).
Patina due to age and use, including surface marks and scratches. The upper rim with a chip measuring approx. 4 mm. The inside with some limescale.
