An original b/w silver gelatin press photograph of British Prime Minister Winston Churchill (1874–1965) in conversation with US President Franklin D. Roosevelt (1882–1945) in Washington, D.C. in late June 1942. Back with agency stamp, handwritten layout instructions in red, handwritten notes as well as stamped publication dates (June 30, 1942, April 13, 1952, November 30, 1977). Double glazing and oak wood frame. Visible size 16×21 cm. Frame size 27×31 cm.

During Winston Churchill's stay in the United States from June 19–25, 1942, he and President Franklin D. Roosevelt agreed to launch 'Operation Torch', the Allied invasion of North Africa. At the same time, Roosevelt appointed General Dwight D. Eisenhower as commander-in-chief of all American forces in Europe. Another theme of the talks, known as 'The Second Washington Conference', was the desire to further support the Soviet war effort.

This is an original b/w silver gelatin press photograph from 1942. Stain in the middle of the photograph. Furthermore a few pressure marks. Back severely discoloured. Additionally normal signs of age and handling.
