Album dedicated to Knud Rasmussen, with a collection of more than 40 early drawings and more than a 100 newspaper clippings, letters and various cut-outs. Most of the drawings, which mainly comprise portraits of inuits, are copied from originals by other artists. Sizes vary from around 6.5×6.5 cm to 19.5×12.5 cm. Also included are around 78 glass positives with everyday scenes from Greenland, each measuring 8×8.5 cm.

Enclosed more than 100 vols, mostly 20th century and in Danish, relating to Greenland. 11 albums with more than a 1000 notes, private photos, newspaper clippings, letters and artwork.

Ib Geertsen was very fascinated with Greenlandic art and artefacts, especially masks. In the 1930s, he started copying Greenlandic drawings from other artists, which started a life long interest in the subject. He also collected Greenlandica and authoured books on the topic.

Geertsen was born 'Ib Geertsen Hansen', which is why he, in his earlier works, signed as either IB. H. or I. H.
