Autograph letter by Dickens to unknown recipient inserted on flyleaf in Little Dorris. With letterhead: “Gad's Hill Place, Higham by Rochester, Kent.” Dated Monday Nineteenth August 1867. The letter reads: Dear Sir, I regret that I cannot have the pleasure of accepting the accompanying sketch for All The Year Round; but it is too slight. With thanks for the offer, For the publishers, Charles Dickens."
