The beach scene, in which agent 007 is to duel with the hitman Francisco Scaramanga, is one of the most legendary Bond scenes ever. The shooting took place on the small Thai island Ko Tapu, 80 kilometres north of Phuket. Additionally Macau - until 1999 a Portuguese colony - and Hong Kong, Bangkok and Pinewood Studios near London served as locations.
