A French late empire gilt bronze chandelier with twelve candle holders, the circle frame hung by chains, adorned with casted satyr masks, griffins, foliage, ornaments and centred by blue glass plate with pine cone finial, the rim adorned with drop-shaped prisms. The first half of the 19th century. H. 97 cm. Diam. 84 cm.
Provenance: The private art collection of the Danish sculptor Helen Schou (b. 1905- d. 2006). From her home in Charlottenlund north of Copenhagen.
