From previous owner's catalgoue: "Tom manuskriptmappe til opbevaring af Hersholts H.C. Andersen breve og manuskripter. Exlibris med egenh. signatur. [...] Købt af prof. Ballhausen i Californien hos Hersholts antikvarboghandler og foræret til Erik Dal."

Hersholt's large collection of Hans Christian Andersen books is now in the Library of Congress. He translated over 160 of Andersen's fairy tales into the English language.
