“He entitled one of his final paintings “Jeg slipper Dig ikke” (I Won't Let You Go). It is a fairly small picture with a powerful motion towards the upper right corner. It is as if his dog creatures, as well as all his other creatures, are united in one great upward search, eager to survive, hold on or aspire to get out of the visual surface of the image.” (Lise Gotfredsen pp. 83–84.)
