The present painting is a study “På forbudne veje” (On forbidden roads) currently a visual attraction for the exhibition “Kunstnerbrødre” featuring H. A. Brendekilde and L. A. Ring painted by the same artist, and sold on Bruun Rasmussen auction 822, 2011 no. 118. “På forbudne veje” is presently owned by Odense Bys Museer and was previously exhibited in Copenhagen, “Den Nordiske Udstilling”, 1888 no. 68.
The canvas needs a slight tightening.
