A Danish Southern Jutland silver vinaigrette, of vase form with two handles, pierced top with memorial on hinged lid, elongated-hexagon base with balm hide, overall richly set with facet- and cabochoncut coloured glass stones, front also set with a memorial, bottom pricked “C.J. Jörgensen 1845”. Indistinct maker's mark. Mid-19th century. Weight 94 g. H. 14 cm.

Condition

Minor wear due to age and use, including few marks and scratches, one handle a bit wry and few dents in bottom.
