The Hornsleth Village Project Uganda is an art project initiated in 2006 where 100 people from the Ugandan village of Buteyongera legally changed their name to 'Hornsleth' in exchange for livestock. Each participant went through the legal process of name change and received a new ID card, which they display in their individual photographic portrait. Through performance, photographs, film and artivism, the project comments on the complex relationship between Africa and the Western world.
