Portrait of privy councillor V. A. Falbe-Hansen (1841–1932) in a bowler hat seated beneath a flowering pergola. Signed with monogram and with dedication (in Danish): 'For my wife on her birthday 15 July 1904'. Oil on canvas. 28×41 cm.
V. A. Falbe-Hansen was the artist's father-in-law.
Provenance: By descent in the artist's family, and then to the present owners.
A few minimal crackles. The canvas needs tightening.
