A Danish South Jutland Baroque silver peg tankard, of cylindrical shape, the cover set with a medal Brandenburg-Preussen 1 thaler 1657, surrounded by engraved owner's data PEDER NISSEN STUSBÖLHOUGAAR 1741 and a flower and leaf band, forked thumb-piece in the shape of pomegranates, scroll handle with mask and shield, raised on three pomegranate supports. Maker Matz (Mathias) Mogensen, Haderslev 1701–1744. Weight 520 g. H. incl. thumb-piece 15 cm.

Condition

Wear due to age and use. The cover and side pricked with later owner's data. The supports perforated on the reverse.
