Full text, no text leaves are missing. 3 leaves with repairs, most sheets are nice and clean. Bound in cont. full calf over wooden boards, with blindtooled decorations and brass bosses and cornerpieces, lacking 2 clasps and 2 brass bosses on frontboard. Lower part of spine worn, hinges with cracks.

Provenance: With the book plate of the British physician, physiologist and Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Richard Caton (1842–1926).
