A Russian silver punch bowl and cover, gilt interior, of trophy-shaped form, body engraved with scrolling flowers, foliage, and in two cartouches respectively “J” and “Y”, ribboned horseshoe finial, with two handles, round base. Mikhail & Semen Gratchev, marked with the Imperial Warrant as purveyor to the Imperial Russian Court, Cyrillic maker's mark MG, assayer Alexander Timofeievich Sheviakov 1892, St. Petersburg town mark, 84 standard. Weight 2,090 g. H. 39 cm. W. 36 cm.

Provenance: Private Norwegian owner.

Condition

We have noticed that the round base is a tiny bit uneven, which makes the whole horizontal general look of the bowl minimal wry. We have seen a small dent at the engraved J. Besides this minimal marks and scratches.
