Hans J. Wegner (b. Tønder 1914, d. Gentofte 2007)
“GE 500”. A three seater sofa with oak frame. Loose cushion in seat and back and on the armrests upholstered with brown leather. Wedge shaped legs with cone shaped chromed shoes. Designed circa 1970. Manufactured by Getama. L. 210 cm.
Presented at Scandinavia Furniture Fair 1972.
GE Model 500 was only in production for a short period in the early 1970s as demand did not materialize. It is assumed that the total production of sofas, armchairs and a matching high-backed armchair was 50–100 units in total. The model rarely seen.
