Sigurd Eriksen (b. Copenhagen 1884, d. Oslo 1976)

The Norwegian painter Sigurd Eriksen is an extremely rare guest at our auctions. He was born in Copenhagen and thus studied under Kristian Zahrtmann from 1904 to 1905. Like many of his contemporaries, he was drawn to Paris, and neither the colour nor composition in this radiant landscape from 1911 can deny being inspired by the artistic ideas of the time.
Sigurd Eriksen is represented at the National Gallery in Oslo.
