Boris Krilov (b. Moscow 1891, d. Copenhagen 1977)

Cheerful, playing and singing Russians around the samovar. Signed and dated B. Krilov 1942. Watercolour on paper. Aperture 30×36 cm. Visible size 38×45 cm.

Provenance: The married couple Nadia Lindemann, née Borodina (b. Vladivostok 1898, d. Frederiksberg 1982) and Georg Emanuel Lindemann (b. Copenhagen 1896, d. Frederiksberg 1991). He worked as a telegraph operator for The Great Northern Telegraph Company and met his wife in the area around Vladivostok, where they married and settled. In the late 1930s, they moved to Denmark, where they purchased this watercolour. Thence by descents to their granddaughter with residence in Denmark until today.

Condition

The paper has turned slightly brown. Some foxing and one damp discolouration.
