Knud Rasmussen
Large collection of more than 70 photographs of Knud Rasmussen with members of his Danish family, crew and others, primarily from his homecomings and take offs to/from various expeditions incl. the 5th Thule Expedition and from the Greenlandic hearing in Haag, and other notable events. One photograph is signed by Knud Rasmussen and dated Nome, Alaska 31 August 1924 on recto. The photograph was taken and signed when the Knud Rasmussen reached his end destination of the 5th Thule expedition in Nome, Alaska. This expedition made Knud Rasmussen world famous and his groundbreaking work and findings on this expedition was awarded with a doctoral degree at the University of St. Andrews, Scotland.
The photographs are overall with handlingmarks, correction and editor lines and wear or even cuts and tears to edges or corners. Most with annotations and various stamps and press text mounted on versos.
