Provenance: Frederik VIII and Queen Lovisa of Denmark. Thence by descent until today. Frederik VIII (1843–1912) was married in 1869 to Queen Lovisa (1851–1926), born a Swedish Princess. Queen Lovisa was very interested in etiquette and royal table setting, and also decided to have the royal kitchen renovated in Frederik VIII's Palace at Amalienborg. Therefore she acquired the silver menu card holders in the form of the Danish Royal Crown in Sweden, which allowed her to order more when necessary.
