Kaare Klint (b. Frederiksberg 1888, d. Copenhagen 1954)

“Stol til Dansk Kunsthandel”. Mahogany armchair with curving back and tapering legs, seat with woven cane. Seat cushion upholstered with patinated Niger leather. Designed 1916. This example made 1930s by Rud. Rasmussen Cabinetmakers.

Condition

Extensive patina and wear due to age and use. Frame with scratches, marks and dirt. Repaired breaks on back, mounted with two “support profiles”. Reverse side of seat mounted with two later metal brackets. Later plugs on sides of front legs. Original Niger leather cushion with cracks, defects and stains. Canvas on reverse side of seat cushion worn and with holes. Cane in good condition with few minor defects along front of seat.
